There’s a storm a brewin’

This summer has given us more than our fair share of rain and storms.  But with all of the attention paid to water and wind damage, do you know if you’re covered for lightning damage?

Damage caused by lightning, such as fire, is covered by standard homeowner’s and business insurance policies.
There is also coverage for lightning damage under the comprehensive portion of an auto insurance policy.

However, home and business insurance policies do not always provide coverage for power surges that are the result of lightning striking a home or business.  This means that consumer electronics in homes, such as flat screen TVs, home entertainment centers, multiple computers, gaming systems and other expensive devices might not be covered.   Let us review your policy with you to better understand where you are, or aren’t, covered.
